- Dorothy Day is a feisty Marxist journalist who’s had several affairs and an abortion, but she experiences a religious epiphany, which turns her into the American Mother Teresa. Set during the Depression, Entertaining Angels traces Day’s spiritual journey as she vows to house the homeless, feed the hungry, and tend the sick. Though her total finances amount to 97 cents in a battered canister, she becomes a servant of the poor, a battler for justice, and a champion of nonviolent conflict resolution.
