Notes:
- From publisher’s blog, 26 February 2013: Camino : the journey to Santiago had its debut this past weekend!
- The film Camino : the journey to Santiago takes up the first 15 minutes of this DVD. A second film, 88 temples, documenting a pilgrimage in Japan, takes up the final eight minutes.
- The Way of St. James, Francés route, is an ancient pilgrimage from the Pyrenees of France to Santiago de Compostela finishing at ‘The End of the World,’ Cape Finisterre, Spain. (14:48)
- The 88 Temple Journey is a 1,200 kilometer Buddist [sic] pilgrimage that circles the island of Shikoku, Japan. (22:36)
- The short film Camino : The Journey to Santiago features the popular pilgrim’s route across Spain on the Camino Francés. In the spirit of films and books featuring the ancient discovery such as The Way, Paulo Coelho’s The Pilgrimage, and Shirley McClain’s The Camino: A Journey of the Spirit, this film also explores the historic pilgrimage. It’s an impressionistic film that presents an easy narrative of the journey, and what it is like during its modern revival. The images and sounds of the adventure gradually unfold, revealing experiences unique only to this special trek. If you’ve traveled the Camino de Santiago, or if you plan to explore The Way of St. James in the near future, our Camino Documentary Short will inspire and encourage you. –Publisher’s Web site.
